After the success of our previous charity quizzes, we’ve continued the tradition into its third year to support Alzheimer’s Society. With the support of 150 friends, family and the ever-growing Freshminds network we hosted round three on the 20th July and are delighted to announce that we’ve raised over £2500 pounds for Alzheimer’s going directly to the charity and taking our three year total to £6,500.
The Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention. They have committed to spending £150 million on cutting-edge research over the next decade, and we’re proud to be united against dementia with them.
Alongside the quiz, we also ran a raffle with generous prizes coming from Sway Bar, Miss TeaSmith, Blow, BoomCycle and Mallow & Marsh. The quiz was followed by auction wherein Freshminds tradition things got competitive, and the sales went through the roof with donations from Hotel Chocolat, Hotpod Yoga, and Secret Cinema. Our final auction prize - a signed cricket bat from the England cricket team got auctioned off for a whopping £400 going straight to Alzheimer’s.
Overall, it was another great quiz, with all teams getting thoroughly into it – we’re looking forward to continuing to support Alzheimer’s over the years and making the quiz’s bigger and better as the years go on.
