Despite the unnerving headlines with regards to the global economy, it seems as though recruiters and internal hiring managers within the consultancy sector remain confident about the rest of 2011. Great news.

This research was conducted by Topconsultant.com with the key findings as follows:

  • Continued difficulties with staff retention have been an important driver of hiring demand in 2011 with 33% of respondents highlighting that staff attrition rates have worsened in 2011 compared to last year

  • 64% of recruiters expect a further acceleration in hiring activity for the remainder of this year

  • Firms are expecting accelerated hiring activity in a number of their practice areas

  • Perhaps unsurprisingly, Public Sector remains the practice area firms expect recruitment cutbacks. Some also fear cutbacks will impact the Financial Service practice area moving forward.

  • Net hiring expectations vary enormously across different practice areas

So, don’t believe everything you read in the papers!
