A 3-Year Strategy Plan For an International DTC Retail Business

digital transformation for fitness brand

Our client required support with development of a group-wide 3-year strategy development plan. Objectives included tripling sales, fuelled by a global market expansion.

Read about how Freshminds facilitated the process by searching and placing the exact talent required, at the right time, to drive through strategic planning.

The Requirement

Our client is a leading European direct to consumer (DTC) retail business, focused on health and nutrition. It employs over 6000 people internationally, and products are sold or distributed in over 130 countries.

One of the divisions within the business required an eComm transformation, moving from B2B to direct to consumer, and the need for an eCommerce specialist was initially highlighted.

Our Approach

Freshminds used our substantial Consultants on Demand network to find an experienced retail/eCommerce professional, whose experience in strategy and operations exactly matched the requirements of the role.

Once this individual was met by the Group Strategy Director, they were brought on board to support with wider strategic needs; which included looking into the parent company, leading situational analysis; working with agencies to review brand positioning; and engaging with MDs across the business to collaborate on "what's next".

Freshminds supported both the consultant, and the client throughout the project, helping to reshape the role to fit the expanding needs of the company.

"Luiza was a delight to work with from start to finish. She had a good grasp of the position, and the client needs, so was able to prepare me well for the interview. Her communication was transparent, timely and uplifting." Freshminds candidate

The Result

The Freshminds consultant succeeded in working with the client to deliver the 3-year strategic plan, while securing buy-in from the wider business.

They led the global market expansion initiative into more than 20 countries, and led several other discrete projects including brand positioning and supporting eComm transformation.
