Completed a graduate scheme? Maintaining the momentum

Here in the Select Team here at FreshMinds Talent, we pride ourselves on our strong network of candidates and clients, and on at our event on 25th October it was time to focus on the candidates.

This informal evening of discussion was focused around how those who have completed a graduate scheme can ensure their career continues on that impressive trajectory.

With over 52 attendees with completed graduate schemes from the like of Lloyds, Tesco, Accenture and Capgemini we were thrilled with the mix of new and existing candidates, experience and discussion.

The evening kicked off with speakers from prestigious graduate schemes who FreshMinds have placed into fantastic roles including within a FTSE 100 Leadership Scheme and a senior corporate role within a world-leading charity.

Their  insight, enthusiasm and personal experiences were fantastic to hear and certainly provided real food for thought for all attendees.

We then heard from Phil Bolton (Less Ordinary Living), our career coaching partner here at FreshMinds who offered useful tips including:

  • Create a 5 year career plan with 1 year goals and continually evaluate
  • Keep momentum with short term skill and experienced based goals
  • Take time to analyse your strengths, skills & experience alongside your personal motivations

The evening ended with an informative Q&A session amongst all attendees and a chance to network over a drink and nibbles. We thoroughly enjoyed the event and the positive feedback received since would suggest attendees felt the same!
