Interim Operations Director, leading charity in the UK

A leading charity in the animal welfare space is looking for an Interim Operations Director. After a thorough strategy review, they have identified needs for change across the organisational structure, processes and personnel. They are ready to implement the most critical changes across the firm and therefore need a commercially-focused Operations Director to lead the company through it.

Your role will be strategic whilst delivery-focused: you will lead the implementation of the key strategic change initiatives, working closely with the CEO and a HR Consultant with the ultimate goal of professionalizing the charity.

Objectives will include:

  • Design and delivery the 2019 – 2020 Operational Plan, including the introduction and implementation of project management tools across the business to ensure accountability, budget and progress against set KPIs;
  • Manage department Heads through the change process as well as in business-as-usual operations;
  • Assist and support the CEO in organizational restructuring, working with HR and line managers to ensure the establishment of a reporting framework.

Consultant profile:

  • Project and team Management experience is required;
  • Change Management experience would be ideal;
  • Charity/ NGO/ 3rd sector experience is not required, but will be considered a plus;
  • Commercially-minded and focused, with candid and amiable personality.

  • Start: May 2019  
  • Duration: 6-9 months (FTC)
  • Location: Wiltshire
  • Salary: £70-80k pro-rata (dependent on experience)
