An international logistics broker needs an interim consultant to lead the set up of their new M&A function. The consultant will work closely with the CEO to structure the M&A function within the business and develop a pipeline of potential acquisitions.

Following the acquisition of the business by a private equity firm, there are new plans in place for significant expansion. In order to achieve the business’ growth targets there is a pressing need to establish an M&A function and enable the growth of the company through acquisitions. The CEO requires an interim consultant with demonstrable experience leading M&A activities to manage the set up of relevant processes and begin managing potential transactions.


  • Define the processes needed to establish a new M&A function including entire deal lifecycle from origination through to execution

  • Develop a pipeline of target acquisitions through market and competitor research

  • Conduct financial analysis to assess the valuation of target businesses

  • Coordinate any transactions and third party involvement


  • Strategy consultant with strong M&A transaction experience

  • End-to-end deal lifecycle exposure from origination through to execution of transactions

  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders within the business and externally


  • Start: Monday 15th April

  • Duration: 3 months

  • Location: central London

  • Day rate: £600 – 700 limited company, dependent on experience
