A fast-growing discount retail group is going through a significant transformation and require an adaptable consultant to support with their strategy projects. As the Interim Head of Strategic Initiatives, you will act as a strategist and an implementer – leading a small and fast-paced team on day-to-day activities for the implementation of strategic opportunities.

Whilst the senior leadership team focuses on growth strategy, you will head the team in prioritising business critical projects (working closely with the Commercial Director) and in streamlining processes to get them done.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Act as an adviser to the senior leadership team – facilitating effective decision-making and coordinating communication, reporting and updates to the board
  • Assess business critical needs and projects enquiries, determining the proper course of action and delegating as needed
  • Manage the team on a daily-basis, ensuring issues on strategic projects are addressed properly and effectively
  • Lead financial and commercial planning (i.e. budgeting, resourcing) for all strategic initiatives

Consultant profile

  • Experience from strategy consulting
  • Retail industry or similar B2C / product to consumer project experience
  • Creative, entrepreneurial and fast-paced

Details:

  • Start: September 2019
  • Duration: 9 Months
  • Location: London  
  • Day Rate: £750-850 LTD, dependent on experience
