A social enterprise in the education sector is looking for a Head of Fund Development to lead the design, development and implementation of the company’s funds and commissioning activities.

This government funded organisation works with a network of partners across the UK to improve career readiness amongst young people and has, to date, funded over 150 programmes in the education sector.

Your role will be strategic and delivery-focused: you will lead the investment team to develop, plan, implement and review funding awards / allocations to a range of organisations within their network. Reporting to the Director of Investment, you will have two people on your team (direct reports).


Objectives will include:

  • Make recommendations on targets of the company’s funds, fund allocation/awarding, commissioning support and impact assessment;
  • Lead the design of the investment activities, including strategic decisions on which projects will be awarded with funding;
  • Manage the team and the delivery, ensuring systems and processes are in place and made in a timely manner;

Consultant profile:

  • End-to-end grant / fund management experience in the 3rd sector;
  • Self-starter, with exposure to senior stakeholders and with experience leading teams;
  • Data-driven, analytical and process-oriented individual;
  • Awareness of the educational sector;

  • Salary: £60-70k FTC (dependent on experience)
