Internship opportunity for 2019 graduates.

Clearwater International focuses on providing corporate finance advice for mid-market transactions including M&A, private equity, debt advisory and restructuring services. The business has completed over 1,300 transactions worth an aggregate value of €50bn, with typical transaction values between €10m and €200m.

Their independence from any larger financial institution or consulting firm ensures that they can give truly objective advice, guiding clients through the challenges they may face. All projects are partner-led, offering high levels of expertise and personal service, and laying the groundwork for lasting relationships.

Our UK offices are based in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham with our UK team consisting of almost 70 experienced and ambitious corporate finance professionals. You will have the option of choosing which UK office you would like to work at.

The 2018 Summer Internship Programme is designed for students who are due to graduate and start a permanent role in 2019. This flexible, paid internship allows you to experience the role of a graduate for between 8 and 17 weeks, from June to September, depending on your availability.

The programme will include classroom based training which will help you to develop your modelling and technical skills as well as your softer skills such as presenting and negotiating. You will also be given exposure to transaction work, deal origination, a broad awareness of corporate finance and the opportunity to develop your strategic, commercial and analytical thinking.

This opportunity is open to students who are studying at a top university in the UK, or the overseas equivalent. The preferred degree disciplines are Economics, Business and Finance or quantitative degrees such as Mathematics, Engineering or Chemistry. However, we can consider those studying for a BA degree such as History, Politics, Philosophy or English if you have other experiences that demonstrate your quantitative abilities. You will be predicted to gain a 2:1 or a 1st and will have impressive school grades.

To secure a role at Clearwater International, you will need to be highly numerate with excellent writing skills. You will also be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a keen interest in Corporate Finance and business through your research and reading. Previous internships within Financial Services or Professional Services will be an advantage.

In terms of personality and attitude, we are looking for candidates who are;

  • natural, confident communicators who enjoy relationship building,
  • at their best when working as part of a team,
  • confident in dealing with senior individuals early on in their career,
  • enthusiastic with the drive to learn quickly and take on early responsibility,
  • humble with a strong work ethic

Applications will only be accepted if a formal application is made via the Clearwater/Freshminds application site

Assessment centres will be held in the first half of December.
