Analyst for Electricity and Gas Utility Company

A British electricity and gas utility company is looking for an Analyst for 6 months to support their team on a large scale restructuring project.



Due to a new regulation, the company has had to undertake a large scale restructuring, involving carving out their systems operator from the wider business.

As a result, the new systems operator company is in a strategic overhaul in which 2 objectives have been prioritized: 1) building the overall strategy and 2) thinking through the data strategy as a business.


Key responsibilities:

Support their in-house strategy team and work together on the following tasks:

  • Conduct market and competitor analysis
  • Digest and condense regulatory framework relevant to systems operators in the UK
  • Develop high-level business case scenarios of value-benefit to the consumer and create a business plan


Candidate requirements:

  • Experience conducting data analysis, gathering and processing
  • Experience working in the energy sector (electricity and gas) ideally. Other regulated infrastructure businesses can be considered (i.e. water and telecom)



  • Duration: 6 months (until July 2019)
  • Start date: Beginning of January 2019 with 1-2 days onboarding in December if possible
  • Location: 2-3 days from London office, the rest from the Wokingham or Warwickshire office.
  • Expenses: covered for commuting to Wokingham, Warwickshire (1 hour train from Marylebone)
  • Interview process: Face to face interview
  • Day rate: £160 PAYE
