Gleacher Shacklock is one of the few world-class advisory firms combining bulge-bracket investment banking expertise with the benefits of an independent, entrepreneurial culture. We are an independent corporate finance advisory firm, owned by its members and offering the highest quality corporate, strategic financial and restructuring advice to our clients.

Our business model allows us the flexibility to originate and execute the largest strategic transactions for our clients, as well as those smaller transactions where high quality, creative advice and execution are key. This combination of quality and focus creates a tremendous opportunity for junior professionals. Our business style is to be inclusive of junior employees, giving them constant and direct exposure to senior and experienced professionals that would not be possible at a larger firm. This exposure provides extremely broad transaction experience across industries and disciplines.

Off-cycle Internship 2019

We look to recruit the most talented students and graduates, irrespective of degree subject or academic background onto our internships. We help individuals to grow in a collaborative and stimulating environment and are able to offer full time, permanent analyst positions to those who impress during their time with us.

Gleacher Shacklock is a unique organisation and as a result, the opportunity we offer to analysts and interns is very different to that of our competitors. You will gain exposure across different areas of our business, including experience of different industry sectors. You will work in small deal teams, learning directly from senior bankers, on a variety of complex projects including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and debt advisory assignments, capital markets transactions and strategic reviews. This early exposure both to senior bankers and to different business areas means you will get more responsibility and an accelerated start to your investment banking career.

What we offer to interns and graduate analysts:

  • Small deal teams and flat hierarchy
  • Early responsibility
  • Excellent exposure to experienced and high calibre senior level bankers
  • Great opportunity to be involved in “deals”
  • Contribution to an entrepreneurial growth story
  • Opportunity to be a generalist and work in a number of different sectors and on a number of different advisory products

What we’re looking for:

  • Desire to make an impact from day one
  • Maturity and personal integrity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Eager to apply intellectual and analytical capabilities in a team
  • Commercially aware with an interest in and aptitude for finance
