About Freshminds

Freshminds' Projects Team manages a pool of Business Analysts, Researchers and Consultants and places them into short to medium term strategic, analytical and research projects to affect, change and solve business critical issues.

Typical Projects Include: Strategic Business Analysis, Market Entry, Competitor Intelligence, Change Management, Operational Efficiency, Due Diligence, Business Case Preparation, Pricing Analysis, Project/Programme Management, Proposition Development.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Account Manager/ Business Developer with a track record of excellence and integrity to help us meet our future growth plans. You'll manage and develop an exciting portfolio of clients across Retail & Technology, Professional Services and Financial Services.

Your primary role will be to build on our existing client relationships, develop new ones and grow your dedicated sector, as well as strengthen our candidate pool with the very best people. This means liaising closely with our clients to understand their people needs in both the short and long term, and then working to meet or exceed these through a combination of our candidate pool and expertise. You're likely to take on contingent and retained work, and will be required to source candidates from our existing database as well as actively search for outstanding applicants. You'll also be acquiring new contacts through referrals and headhunting.

You'll receive extensive training, delivered both via specific sessions and on-the-job monitoring. You'll be encouraged to stretch and develop your skills both in a technical manner, including interview styles, assessment methods etc and softer abilities such as client facing skills and general stakeholder management. Client relationship management:

  • Work closely with the client during the project definition stages and identify what resource and skill set will be required to achieve the desired outcome of the project.
  • Manage existing client accounts during the sales and delivery phases of the project
  • Relationship building and networking within these accounts to deepen relationships and identify commercial opportunities
  • Meeting existing clients to take briefs on their requirements
  • Developing expertise and advising clients on their assessment and selection methods

New Business Development

  • Generating new business through creative marketing campaigns, referrals, networking and contacting prospective clients
  • Pitching the FreshMinds offering to prospective clients

Candidate relationship management and management of the delivery process:

  • Presentation of CVs to the client, showing high levels of judgment and business understanding.
  • Giving open, honest and timely feedback to candidates, maximising their prospects of interview success.


  • Involvement in process improvement and/ or product development.
  • Mentoring and training team members.
  • Working on the size, breadth and quality of the Talent pool.
  • Help in cross selling and cross-delivering - providing leads and candidates to the Graduate and Interim teams wherever possible.

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have proven sales/ business development experience from working in a professional services environment. Ideally, you'll have experience of understanding and selling project work. 
  • You’ll have an impressive track record of consistently exceeding your targets through delivering on existing relationships and proactively opening up new ones. You'll  demonstrate drive, originality and enthusiasm in your approach to challenges. Most importantly, you’ll act with integrity and have an understanding of business issues. If your background is business consultancy, you’ll need experience of and insight into managing client relationships.
  • You must have excellent people skills and be a strong communicator at all levels – confident and outgoing, with an excellent phone manner and extremely professional approach. You must also be adept at building relationships with high-calibre individuals, and be a persuasive and sympathetic speaker.
  • You'll need to be well-organised, and have the ability to manage your time successfully. You'll need to come across to clients and colleagues as professional and credible, and must have strong, confident presentation skills, including good written and spoken English.
  • It goes without saying that to represent our first-class candidates you’ll need brilliant academics yourself – so a minimum ABB at A Level and a 2.1 at a University will be required.
