Fundraising: every penny counts

Giving time is part of the answer, but there’s no denying the value of cold, hard cash. We encourage, celebrate and reward fundraising by setting ourselves an annual target and running a competition to see who can contribute the most. We’re pretty confident that by the end of 2009 we’ll have raised £10,000 for good causes (we’re more than halfway there!) and aim to raise at least twice that in 2010. Our dedication to giving something back has also earned us a gold award from Workplace Giving for outstanding uptake of their Payroll Giving scheme.

We do a lot to raise money, from the small and fun (knitting clubs and bake sales) to the large and, quite frankly, insane (cycling across Africa and travelling the length of India by rickshaw). But we’re always willing to do more. Given that we managed to convince one of our directors to walk over hot coals to raise money for terminally ill kids, there really is very little we wouldn’t try!
